My practice focuses on fabric, fibers, ceramics and digital media.
For me, pottery begins with the search for form. However, right from the start, I take into consideration the aspect of surface decoration. I experiment with colors and their combinations and create many colorful designs. Of the many colorful designs, only a handful make it past the drawing board, after which comes the time to take courage and transfer the designs from paper to ceramic object. My experience of the countries I've lived in has shaped my vision of the world, including aesthetic motifs, compositions and narratives. My travelling identity is therefore reflected in my pieces as a blend of different cultures in which color plays a very important role.
Slowing down and accepting that failure is a positive step in the search for something special and original in a world where productivity comes first can be overwhelming. But it's also something I try to convey: the feeling of wanting to stop, pause, relax and look at a piece just for the pleasure of contemplating something beautiful.
