Every Wednesday and Friday evening during the summer, the Silica Gardens (Jardin de Silice), designed by ceramic artist Kinya Ishikawa and sculptor Jean-Denis Bisson Biscornet, is transformed to host intimate concerts.
The musical program brings together artists from diverse backgrounds, blending different styles and influences in a spirit of creative exploration and cultural exchange.
Expect an eclectic lineup where music meets nature in an inspiring setting.

A multi-instrumentalist and composer, Uwe began his musical journey in Germany with classical guitar before moving on to progressive rock. His travels led him to discover the resonant sound of the didgeridoo in Australia and the enchanting tones of the sansa in Thailand, after which he earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Indian classical music, specializing in the sitar. This year, he invites Subir Dev to join him for a sitar and tabla duo.
A Canadian-American theorbo player and graduate of McGill University, Seth Dempsey has made a name for himself on Montreal’s baroque music scene alongside the McGill Baroque Orchestra and the ensemble Les Idées heureuses, notably at Salle Bourgie. Ariana Duclos, a French-Canadian soprano trained in Baroque singing at McGill University and the Académie de musique ancienne des Boréades, shares his passion for lesser-known Italian repertoires of the 17th century. Brought together during a residency at Musiques d'Amytis in the spring of 2026, they present a program that blends interpretation and improvisation in the style of the period.
Based in Val-David, flutist Marie-Noëlle Choquette and guitarist Charles Hobson have been performing as the Beija-Flor Duo for over twenty years. With over a hundred concerts in Canada, the United States, and Argentina, three critically acclaimed albums, and appearances on Radio-Canada, CBC, and Global TV, their reputation is well established. For the Veillées de Silice, they invite us on a journey with Muzika, a program of stories and melodies from Eastern Europe.
Born in Beirut in 1998, Jad Orphée Chami is a Canadian-Lebanese composer, performer, and multidisciplinary artist based in Montreal and Paris. He made a name for himself at age 19 by composing the soundtrack for Sophie Deraspe’s film *Antigone*, which won Best Canadian Film at the Toronto International Film Festival and was Canada’s official selection for the Oscars. On stage, his artistic world is elusive: somewhere between French-language chanson, Levantine jazz, and baroque pop, he weaves narratives that carry the memory of Lebanon, exile, and the beauty of the world.
Renowned for her “round and silky” voice, her musical intelligence, and her refined interpretations, soprano Marie Magistry holds a prominent place on the Canadian music scene. She is regularly invited to collaborate with renowned ensembles such as the Studio de musique ancienne de Montréal, Les Violons du Roy, the Arion Ensemble, the Ensemble Caprice, and many others. She performs on major stages and at international festivals. In a duo with guitarist Marc Deschênes, she explores a repertoire for voice and guitar spanning the Renaissance, Baroque, and Romantic periods.
A harpist and winner of the 2008 Prix d'Europe and Radio-Canada's “Révélation” award, Valérie Milot has established herself as one of the leading soloists of her generation. A prodigious cellist, Stéphane Tétreault is the principal cellist in residence with the Orchestre Métropolitain, recipient of the Canada Council for the Arts’ 2019 Virginia Parker Award, and winner of the 2022 Opus Award for Performer of the Year. He plays a 1707 Stradivarius and has shared the stage with many great artists.

A singer and actress trained in classical voice at the Montreal Conservatory of Music, Bénédicte Bérubé slipped away without finishing her master’s degree to experience the freedom of travel and encounter other cultures. From theater in Minsk (Belarus) to chanson in Petite-Vallée, and opera and cabaret between Montreal and Paris, she moves effortlessly from opera to chanson, forging a world rooted in risk-taking and the exploration of new mediums. For the Veillées de Silice, she presents Kurt and the Cabaret des Cœurs Tout Croches, accompanied by Alex McNally and Émilie Sigouin.
Alan Gerber is an American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. He is a member of the rock band Rhinoceros and has also pursued a solo career over the past 30 years. His style reflects a variety of influences (blues, folk, jazz), and he is particularly known for his high-energy performances and his lighthearted, humorous lyrics.
The Mémoire Quartet is a Montreal-based string quartet dedicated to contemporary music. Founded in 2024, it is composed of four young musicians from the Montreal Conservatory of Music and the Schulich School of Music at McGill University. Their name reflects their mission: to contribute to the collective memory through the creation and dissemination of today’s repertoire. Since its founding, Mémoire has collaborated with Montreal institutions such as the Canadian Music Centre in Quebec (CMC), the Chapelle historique du Bon-Pasteur, the Collectif Radiance, No Hay Banda, the Société de musique contemporaine du Québec (SMCQ), and Le Vivier. Mémoire has also performed at the SMCQ’s Montréal Nouvelles Musiques festival.
2 activities SIXTRUM COLLECTIF : - Three percussionists stop at each of these imaginary islets to introduce audiences to music that is by turns intimate and exuberant, sailing from one to the next on musical themes inspired by water and wind. Each stop offers a chance to explore unique musical timbres and compositions, in a production that incorporates object theater and shadow puppetry. Poetic, inventive, and festive, this show—specially designed for young children—is a wide-open door to the incredible richness of contemporary percussion and an invitation to journey into the musical imagination of SIXTRUM. MMMUSES COLLECTIF : - Treasure hunt! Nine puzzles to solve on the theme of opera—Family activities! Stop by the information booth at the 1001 Patentes qui bougent festival anytime between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM, and we’ll guide you on a journey through the world of classical music!

As part of the 1001 Pots exhibition, the Amytis Music Association is looking for volunteers to help organize concerts this summer! Once again this year, several concerts will be held in the Jardin de Silice, showcasing exceptional musicians from Quebec. If you are passionate about music and would like to help out during these events, don’t hesitate to send us your application! Availability Be available for a 4-hour shift for at least one concert during the season, taking place on Friday July 12, 19, and 26, Thursday August 7, and Friday August 2.
